Commercial solar plus battery on one site
Commercial solar plus battery usually means generation and storage serving the same site. Treat it as one electrical and commercial object, not a solar quote with a battery brochure attached.

One site, one system
The battery’s job on a commercial roof is often to shift solar or manage peaks. That only works if demand, export limits and controls are designed together. Separate procurement without a shared electrical scope is how the numbers stop matching.
What the brief must include
Consumption pattern, solar envelope, battery duration envelope, whether export is intended, and who would own each asset. Missing demand data should stay missing — do not invent a self-consumption rate.
Costing and capital
Ask for a combined delivery estimate where the install is one programme. Raise capital as one gap if the stages sit together. Split them only when owners or timings are genuinely different.
Not a standalone BESS
A grid-facing storage asset on the same landholding may still be a separate project. If you mean a factory battery, say behind-the-meter. If you mean a merchant BESS, say that.
